Thomas Engström had collaboration with about fifty artists over the years in various forms, in the 70’s singers in the Anglo-Swedish rock band Shaggy, headhunted to Belgian hard rock band Castro and later on to Gothenburg based Highway with a couple of former members from Alien. Four solo albums with his ”alter ego” Joshua af Saga now releasing his 9th single under his own name. The 9th of twelve to become the album ”Pure Pop”
 
”Soldier of Fortune” is a blues and rockballad and originally released on Deep Purples 1974 album ”Stormbringer”. Though Deep Purple has never released the song as a single and it has never placed on the record charts, it has developed a cult following over the years, and has been covered by many artists and bands.
 
”When a Blind Man Cries” is a song by British rock band Deep Purple, originally only available as the B-side of the single ”Never Before”, released in 1972. It was recorded during the ”Machine Head” sessions in December 1971.
According to Ian Gillan, ”It’s just an example, for example, if you think of the phrase ’if a blind man cries’ then it’s pretty sad, those who are disadvantaged tend to be less complaining than those who are able-bodied
